Kitchen shoes are designed to help reduce slips in the kitchen by having a good anti slip sole, most surrent shoes have an SCR anti slip rating so you can now get a good idea on the slip resistance of a particular product, kitchen shoes don't necessarily have to have toe cap protection this is down to the individual kitchen manager to asses and do a health and safety risk assessment and decide on whether its prudent or not to issue toe cap or non toe cap protection.
